"So," you say, "Mercurius, was It? Since you seem to have the correct, um, documentation, I'll allow you to enter the city."
Mercurius smiles and quickly says. "Th-thank you."
The young man then scuttles off, heading for the gates. Ashley lets him through, and you retake your post. Things seem a little awkward between you two after that, but you can't quite place what.
"You couldn't keep it in your pants till after our shift?" she mocks under her breath.
Your eyes go wide. She heard you!
"J-just how much of that did you hear?" you stammer.
Ashley turns to you with a knowing smile. "You were, like, two metres away. I heard him swallow, for fuck's sake. So, you're gay then?"
