Me: “Hey mom... can I ask you something?”
Mom: “Sure hun, what’s up?”
Me: “You and Derick (brother) seemed really close tonight. I was wondering if you like him more than me...”
Mom: “Of course not sweetie. Your brother is just older and we get to talk and do older things with each other”
Me: “Things? What kind of things?”
Mom: “Just adult stuff, don’t worry about it sweetie.”
Me: “Adult stuff!? Like the stuff I did to you on the couch today?”
Mom: “Shhhhh, your father will hear you. Tell you what, if you drop the subject right now and never speak of it again, I will sit with you and your friend the entire drive to Havasu. How does that sound?”
Me: “Yeah, alright...”
Mom: “Okay good, now go to sleep. We have a big day tomorrow.”
