You decide to go with Gavin's idea. As you tell everyone your choice, Darren slams the brakes, and you and Gavin fall flat on the floor of the van. He's not happy. As you both recover, Tee then shouts at Darren for doing such an awful thing, which Darren ignores and exits the vehicle and slides open the side door.
"Gavin, grab that camera," Darren explains as you both stand up, "Tee, take your bag, and you, take my bag. I ain't going."
Darren then jumps back into the car and shuts the door. Gavin in disbelief, grabs his bag and runs towards Darren's door.
"What are you doing Darren? This isn't like you. Can't you see the tornados are moving slowly together. You aren't going to make it if you're going to go with Tee's plan-"
"I'm not doing her plan," Darren interrupts, annoyed,"I'm just going to sit here and hope for the best."
You all stop in disbelief, he isn't actually going to do that. Why would he? He's so young, yet he is just going to die just like that. Tee also joins Gavin at the door. You stand a few steps behind them, since you think that if you try to intervene, you might just hurt yourself more than help them. As the tornados edge closer, all three of them begin to argue about Darren staying. Darren suddenly shouts.
"Look, I'm not going to move. I don't care if we've been best friends, Gavin, I just don't care anymore. Try all you want, but I'm going. Look towards you, thats the tornado you're trying to run from. Shouldn't you be running away from it now?"
Gavin and Tee slowly step back. As they turn around they tell you to follow them. You look back and watch Darren slowly shed a tear from his eyes. You turn back around and continue following. Gavin destroys a window a window and jumps inside the shop. It's a asian restaurant. You all run through the fancy restaurant and exit through the back. Only to find a huge wall blocking you from the street behind it. Somehow, Gavin wallruns to the top and pulls you and Tee up and over the wall.
After five minutes of running, Gavin calls for a rest and you all sit down on a bench. Gavin's phone rings in his pocket, he answers it and walks a few steps away. You look at Tee, she's sobbing ridiculously. You begin to comfort her by saying that he might not have died and how if he did, he'll be in a better place. Tee turns her head towards you.
"Thank You."
You suddenly notice the dark clouds are fading away, the storm is over. Gavin ends his call and walks over to both of you.
"That was Damon," He says, "I told him what happened. He's coming to pick us up here, so sit tight."
As you all sit down on the bench, you look inside Darrens bag, nothing really inside, some usb's a some books about photography, a small camera and a wallet. You pull out the wallet and camera and look through them. The wallet has $65 and some cards, and a picture of what looks to be his wife.
"That's Serena," Gavin explains emotionally, "They actually just became engaged three weeks ago. You know, they met in such a weird place. Outside of a strip club, could you believe it! Darren thought she was just a prostitute at first too, and when he asked if she was, oh how black was his eye that fateful day."
Gavin suddenly bursts into laughter. You laugh as well, though not fully understanding the joke. You pass the wallet to Gavin, who chucks it in his bag. You then continue with Darrens camera. As you shuffle through the photos you see some of the most amazing pictures of tornado's you've seen in your lifetime, to think that he was so good.
"Those were some of the best photos i've seen taken in my entire life." Tee speaks, "Some of them were ridiculously unbelieveable, if he brought his album with him today I would show you."
You see a car pull up towards you three. Gavin stands up and tells you both.
