Breaking free from your shock, you drop the lock and run at the door with all your might. You don't know who's behind you, but you're sure they're not friendly.
The voice yells out at you again, telling you to stop, but you are now pushing frantically at the door, ignoring everything else. You have to get out.
The door starts to move, its hinges squealing in protest. It isn't opening without a fight. Your joints start to ache and sweat begins to run down you.
You just manage to open it enough to be able to squeeze through, when a shot rings out, painfully loud.
The bullet buries itself four inches into your upper back, ripping through your heart and killing you instantly.
