"Well," you say, "when you're older, and you have your period, that stuff makes you pregnant."
She nods. There is a silent pause.
"When," she says, changing the subject, "will I see you again?"
You give her your cell phone number and e-mail address and tell her to contact you (and not to show anyone).
"But I don't want to see you later. I want to see you now," she says.
You think about it. You'll be late to school already. You might as well skip. You might as well skip with her.
"Okay," you say. "Let's go somewhere."
