If it were not for Mianus, Barstow would be the asshole of America. The spring and summer are extremely hot, though most residents don't seem to notice. Most of the establishments, including but not limited to grocery stores and schools, are run almost entirely by incompetence. This is true of almost anywhere in America, but it's mostly apparent here. The most incompetent establishments in Barstow, are the Hospital and High School.
Barstow mostly, if not solely exists, as a halfway-mark pit stop for people driving from Las Vegas to Los Angeles or vice versa. As such, the Resteraunts and Gas Stations are the least incompetently run establishments in the city.
