Camera Systems

From Time Travel Game

The game will use a typical first person camera with a 75 degree field of view. This will provide players with a wide enough angle to feel like they are in the game while still being able to focus their attention to key moments of gameplay or effects. It also avoids the tunnel vision issues common with most modern FPS games, such as Call of Duty. Which use a shorter viewing angle (typically around 50%) to focus gameplay and the player into constantly moving forwards. Seeing as the Time Travel Game will have areas of exploration and puzzle solving the wider 75 degree angle is more applicable and will "easier on the eye" for the player.

Movement of the camera will be controlled via the mouse (See Controls for details) with the only added effect to the camera being the zoom and scope functions of specific items and weapons. Other camera effects will be "natural" effects such as a very slight bobbing of the camera to simulate movement when the player is moving around the game world. Overall the camera should feel fairly loose and be quick to control.
