Xanthus is a kind soul at most times, and thinks that his soldiers lives are just as important, if not more important than his own. Because of this, he is somewhat prone to "changing" orders to save his soldiers, though luckily for him, these changes usually result in the mission going better than expected so no one really minds them.
Away from battles, he prefers to just sit down and think about how to improve as a fighter and to help his men become better. When he acts like this, he begins to tune out all things besides his thoughts, so people think that he is sluggish and lazy with other work. This is partially true, as he hates doing work besides fighting and thinking, but he still gets it done fairly fast.
During war meetings and such, he tends to keep quiet unless asked a direct question or if he has a good idea. When he is not doing those in a meeting, he is usually sitting down with his eyes closed, as if he is sleeping.

Xanthus Ruroki has dirty blond hair that is almost shoulder length, dark blue bandana on his forehead. His hazel eyes have a glazed over look that makes him seem as if he is stoned half the time, something he can't really control. He also wears light armor underneath his clothes that match the colour of his headband. His armor does not protect his arms or any area below his knees in order to allow more flexibility. He also wears light brown boots and fingerless gloves made of leather. On his back, his bow and quiver are located with quiver on the right and bow on the left, while at his left thigh his sword rests.

Xanthus hails from a small town near the Northern Coast of Tavrica. His father was a retired warrior from the Tavrican army, and had left that life 5 years prior to Xanthus's birth. Xanthus was trained by his father in the ways of the sword around Xanthus's 8th birthday. Around Xanthus's 13th birthday, his father passed away. Xanthus continued his training for 3 more years, then left to join the Tavrican army.
When he first joined the army, they noticed his name and connected it with his father. They offered his a higher ranking position after seeing his skills, but Xanthus declined at first, saying "Just because my father was a General and I am strong does not mean I should lead. Besides, I am only 16, much too young for these people to follow."
3 years passed, and he had grown in strength and has risen in rank quite a bit, being in rank just below one of the current Generals, Aviar Solom. Solom was growing old in years and was looking for a replacement out of the three top officers. So, he sent Xanthus and his group out to quell an uprising with a set of instructions that would've led to utter chaos and the possible slayings of all of Xanthus's men. Xanthus realized this when he arrived at the uprising and managed to change the strategy and make it so only a handful of his men died along with the rebels. When Solom heard this on Xanthus's return, he resigned and left his Generalship to Xanthus. Xanthus still consults Solom from time to time when he is in need of advice (I may write a profile for Solom if I have the time.). Xanthus is currently serving under High Duke Darius LaMontagne.

The Phoenix Brand is a sword that was given to Xanthus by his mother, who told him it has been passed down through Xanthus's father's family for the past several generations. It was originally owned by Xanthus's great-grandfather, who received it in Endal after being bestowed upon with an honour. Since it comes from Endal, it is embued with fire magic, and some claim that it was somewhat fashioned off of Arthur, the sword of the Emporer.
The sword itself has a reddish hue to it, and near the hilt on both sides there is an engraving of a Phoenix, which is where the sword gets its name.
