Gregarios looks as old as he is. His hair is russet brown, prematurely streaked with grey; his eyes are hazel. He is well built, but looks lean. He wears light cavalry armor colored a deep violet-red, with a durable brown travel cloak over it. Gregarios is not one for lavishness. He prefers to get straight to the point. Though he may be blunt, his soul is kind, and oftentimes his calming, fatherly presence is enough to soothe anyone.

Gregarios led an uninteresting childhood. Born to a middle-class family, went to a fair military academy, graduated with honors as most of his class did. It was only later that his life picked up. He's still unmarried, though he has his hopes. He's a hardened battle veteran, having served under Emperor Aurieus and been assigned as personal retainer to Sir Derek Veseromius de Montrierre upon the latter's assignment as Steward. He's been an acquaintance of Derek for a while, and fought alongside him against the Kaeldar.
He served as Emperor Derek's moral support and is almost always by his side, ready to (both figuratively and literally) offer his arm to the unsteady new Emperor.
Now, with Derek having surrendered his throne to Lucretia, he acts as her personal aide, giving her the advice she needs to rule the largest country on Maris.
His sword Vildraen belonged to his friend Derek, and was given him upon Derek's abdication of the throne.
