[edit] Appearance/Personality

Onris is a big man, muscular and imposing. Much of his mass is muscle, and on his face is a full beard. His brown hair is tied in braids. He wears a tattered cloth shirt with heavy armour over it and a spiked shoulder-pad. Hanging at his belt is a long sword. At his side, he carries a great thundermace.

[edit] Biography

Onris was a big child from the womb. His parents were pleased about his birth, knowing they’d brought into this world a future warrior of Endal. From a young age, he was taught to play war games and taught to fight with a wooden sword and axe. He swung the axe hard as a youth, and soon he was no longer wielding a wooden sword but a metal one, and chopping firewood with an axe for his parents. He loved the sound of the splintering wood because it showed his strength; it gave him a feeling of Endali pride as he chopped the logs perfectly.

He went from chopping logs to chopping up Endal's enemies. After his training, he joined the Endali navy, becoming a swordsman who sailed the seas, having as much love for them as any Vadalian. He fought side-by-side with great warriors, seeing great warriors fall, even though he was merely a mercenary then. After the battle, he was made captain of his own ship, and sailed the Endali seas.

He met up with trouble: a terrible hurricane. Onris' crew fought for their lives, but in the end, only Onris and his wife survived. They were washed up on the shore of an unknown marsh. The marsh was enshrouded in a great mist. The swordsman and his wife, soaked from head to toe in river water, scrambled for cover, walking through deep forests until they reached a derelict castle. Not thinking, they entered, and rested in one of the bedrooms upon a moldy bed. If it weren’t for the wife’s light sleeping, Onris may not have awoken in time to slaughter the monsters that had crept into the bedroom. He swung his axe furiously, warding off the enemy as much as he could, and trying to protect his wife, a Valkyrie.

One-by-one, the monsters fell, save for one. This one stood watching, bright green orbs gazing through the hood of a meshy brown cloak. It slowly removed its hood. Onris got only a glimpse of a horrendously ugly reptilian monster until he was flooded by the memories of fighting the dragon. Not just any memories. The ones that remained most vivid: the blood, the gore, the death. The memories of the water tainted red by the blood of the fellow warriors.

He awoke drifting towards land, his arms grasping a plank of wood to shore. When he found his bearings, he was on foreign sands, and he picked himself up, heading for the nearest town. He discovered he was back in Endal, and there, he met an interesting young shaman who seemed fascinated with him. Mainly because he was from across the sea. The two got to talking, and Onder told Malan of Gorna. Malan was surprised that what he’d read as myth was true, and showed Onder his books full of research, including things about the Gorna. Intrigued, he went to Kaeldar, and spent some time searching for the Gorna. While in a bar, he met a girl named Simonei. The two became friends, then swapped stories, and Onder decided to create a group based on destroying the Gorna and ending its evil. He wanted Simonei as his second-in-command, despite her limits, because he saw potential in her. A guild was formed, and soon it had become more than a mere group; it had become a full-fledged mercenary guild.
