[edit] Appearance & Personality

Appearance: Lyall is rather thin for his height, most of his body being lean muscle without a trace of fat. His strangely colored silver hair is cropped short as so to not cover his eyes, and two tribal markings adorn his cheeks. He wears dark-blue armor to defend himself in fights. His lance and spear lay across his back while his family’s sword is sheathed by his side in its grey sheath.

Personality: Lyall is a quiet and serious individual, and is prone to ignoring some people when they start talking. However, he is deadly loyal to his friend, Titus, and is willing to kill, die, or do whatever he requests, no matter what. When not assisting or hanging out with Titus, Lyall can often be found reading a good book.

[edit] Biography

As the only child of a pair of sea-faring Sons of Sands merchants, Lyall grew up on the water. When he was 6, a raider/pirate crew ambushed his parent’s ship and killed and plundered everyone and everything on board, save Lyall. In a childish rage, Lyall slew one of the pirates before he could be contained and brought before the captain. The captain of the pirates said that he liked the look in Lyall’s eyes and ordered his men to bring him along. He grew up amongst the pirates for 5 years until they foolishly attacked an Endali settlement. The pirates were slaughtered almost immediately and Lyall was left to be judged by the commander of the Endali forces.

The commander took mercy on Lyall, and sent him to the mighty and impressive Pax Endalia to be trained in the Legionary arts. He took quickly to their training regiments and soon became quite proficient with the sword. For the next amount of years, Lyall trained hard inside Pax Endali alongside his only friend, Titus Galernius Canus, who provided him the only reason to continue on.

After a while, he and Titus were sent on patrols and the such to further their assistance to Endal, where they both suffered admonishments for their mistakes. Titus was reprimanded for accidentally being captured while Lyall suffered the shame of failing to defend his friend well enough as well as being regarded as ‘too blood-thirsty’ by their Centurion.

They returned to Pax Endali as stronger and more determined soldiers, both ready to better themselves for the sake of Endal, though for a brief moment during a night watch, Lyall questioned where his true loyalties lied; In Endal, in securing glory and victory for a country that he felt acknowledged them only as numbers? Or in Titus, his only friend and the sole reason that he survived the Legionary training as a child? He dispelled the thoughts, not wanting to know the true answer to that question.

After their return to Pax Endali, Lyall took to learning the lance, seeing as if he wanted to join Titus in becoming a Legionary, he would need such experience in wielding one. While not as skilled with it as his swords, Lyall achieved what was recognized as the appropriate amount of skill with lances and graduated with Titus with no small amount of pride. As official Legionaries, they soon joined an Avenno-bound cohort and easily conquered it. The fact that the Pax Endali had been finished had given them an almost unbeatable edge.

They returned victorious to Pax Endali and resumed their training and patrols, each working on proving their abilities to themselves and bettering their combat skills. Soon however, there happened a rebellion in the peaceful area of Suini, led by the over-zealous Nogera who were attempting to show the world their might. Endal rushed to Suini’s aid, as did Titus and Lyall. There they were separated, with Lyall being sent to one front and Titus to another. Determined to end the foolish battle quickly, Lyall recklessly rushed through many enemy formations, causing chaos amongst the enemy ranks that gave his front the perfect opening for a massacre, until he reached the enemy front commander. They dueled, each proving a worthy match for each other, until Lyall managed to land a lucky critical blow that slew the enemy commander. Victorious, Lyall fell back on his pirating ways for a moment and retrieved anything of value that the now corpse had and found something of immense power. It was a small crest of a vague and unknown family that seemed to exude confidence and skill, so Lyall immediately applied it to his chest. In a bright flash of light that blinded all around him for an instant, Lyall’s typical armor and form disappeared, only to be replaced with a figure in shining Legionary armor. Lyall opened his eyes from the bright flash, took notice of his new apparel, and shot a devilish grin towards the enemy forces before slaughtering his way back to the Endali main force. Soon after, the Endali forces won the battle and preserved Suini.

After the battle, Lyall returned to Titus’ side, only to find his friend accompanied by a woman fighter by the name of Amacia. At first he remained cool towards her, but as the years went by and Titus married her, Lyall began to warm up to her. He currently regards her as his second only friend.
