[edit] Vital Statistics

Former Nation:Lequall

Class #(Level):War Mage #1

Rank:Officer of the Dark Brotherhood.

Age:33

Height:6'2"

Weight:172 lbs.

[edit] Appearance

Gale is a tall man, and when in Lequall he towered over his fellow man. He was even taller than the Grand Marshall himself. However, he is not as broad as should befit him. He is somewhat narrow-shouldered, so that he can squeeze into small-ish spaces, yet not so narrow as to be a misfit in a crowd.

He wears black boots that go up to his knees with muck colored trousers, knee and below going inside the boot. On his torso he wears a tunic the same color as his boots, with a red cloth going around his waist, acting as a sort of belt. The tunic covers down to his mid-thigh. The cloth that goes around his waist is a muddy-blood color. On it he has his sword, Molten Edge, on his right hip. Over these is a long, dark trenchcoat with lime green belts in the collar, cuffs, and the end of the coat. In the right pocket of the coat he conceals his Blaze tome.

Gale has a scraggly chin, and needs a razor for that, but conspicuously has no moustache. Other members of the Dark Brotherhood theorize that he incinerates the whiskers that grow there. However, what with burns and all, that is an unlikely theory. Gale is unusually pale for a Lequallian. He has a rounded chin on which his whiskers grow, and a straight, pointed nose. He has straight, ash blonde hair that grows neatly. He has bluish-green eyes that at time shine with innocence of a child, and other times are dull and glazed in thought and memory.

Gale looks the most like Lloyd Reed out of all in his family's line.

[edit] Personality

Gale has a strange personality for one from Lequall. He analyzes his missions, from the start to the finish of them. He will then decide their justness, and he predicts the effect on the popularity of his alias, which he has a strange care for. He is usually right. Berith the Mainyu of Lust keeps always a finger on him, and so he lusts after many, though he reprimands himself when they are gone and he is alone. However, he cannot help but think that Angra's water tastes good.

He is now pretty straightforward, ordering the men he can around as intelligently as he can. He is such a brilliant tactitian, that some wonder if Lequall alone taught it to him. He also often draws his own blade and tome when he can.

[edit] Biography

To sum up Gale's past, one has to travel far back into the past. Back before Svael Albendroth was born, in fact....

Lloyd Reed, son of Brendan Reed, had a wife, unlike much of the Black Fang at the time. However, when Nergal appeared, Lloyd had her hide, and so she and her infant son fled to Lycia, and sought shelter in Santaruz Castle, where they saw Ephidel before and when he killed the kindly Marquess. They were given what they sought, for Ephidel had not been dispatched to Darin Laus as of yet.

When they heard of Lloyd's death and the destruction of the Black Fang, the son of Lloyd hurried to the Bern Lands, and found where, at last, his father was buried. However, he returned to the grave at night and stole his father's coat and sword. When he returned, he helped his mother repair the coat until it was as good as when Lloyd himself wore it.

In time, the son of Lloyd's son was named Seneschal of the new Santaruz line. He wore his grandfather's sword and coat proudly.

Since then, every firstborn member of the Reed Line was awarded the coat of Lloyd and the Sword of Lloyd at their coming of age.

During the Sundering, the Reed Line found themselves in Tyler Hitori's following, and as such became part of Lequall afterwards.

After the Sundering, the art of Enchantment was re-discovered. Gale's grandfather had Lloyd's sword be enchanted with fire magic and had a tome written go go with it, one for each his two sons. However, the secondborn was killed in an accident, and so the firstborn, Gale's father, recieved both.

Ten years later, Gale was born to his father, Linus Reed IV, a blademaster, and his mother, Cassandra Reed, a sage. For thirteen years, Gale Reed was taught how to use a sword from the time he was seven, and from the time he was twelve he started learning about Magic. He felt himself drawn to the fire tomes, though they were the most destructive of all.

At the age of twenty, Gale's instruction by his father and his mother at the Agoge was over. He could wield swords in conjunction with his magic tomes. He had come of age. Finally, at the 'ceremony', Linus gave Gale first the sword, and then the tome, and then the coat of Lloyd Reed, his fabled ancestor.

Within a timespan of five years, Gale was promoted to the position of Ephor, and was living a modestly comfortable life.

However, then he met...her. Another Ephor, Glyn Melanasil, also a War Mage. Her form pleased him, and at first, he lost to her in a duel because of his fascination with her. However, soon he gathered his wits about him and they became friends. Sparring partners especially. They were equals in swordsmanship and durability. Their loyalty, dependability, and morality were unquestioned. They also enjoyed the same literature and music.

However, one night, when he and she were in his study in the barracks, he confessed to her his love. Her face, neck, hands, and all other visible skin became flushed, and she admitted that she liked him as well. The next day, they began dating, when they found the time. They dated for five years.

On the last date, an unquenchable lust enveloped him as she lay on top of him. His mind tried to reassert control, but it failed. The Mainyu were upon him, and unless Ahura or the Daevas help, man cannot resist.

Sadly, he raped her. And then, being filled with shame, clothed himself and fled from Ilovendial. Glyn screamed during the rape, but the door was locked and the window closed. When he fled, she redressed and tried to pursue, but she had been drained of energy and was also full of shame. Her soldiers also tried, but the War Mage was far too much for them to handle, being Lloyd's descendant, and so they fell back.

For the next two years, Gale evaded authorities without using the sword or the tome. He managed to escape them so many times, he was refered to as the Spirit Hound. However, this was changed to the Flame Wolf when he was about to be apprehended and he finally fought back, incinerating the inexperienced mercenaries. Thus he unknowingly paid homage to his ancestor and his ancestral uncle, for they were known as the White Wolf and the Rabid Hound, respectively.

When he turned thirty three, someone with the alias of The Beast, who he could tell was far more powerful than he himself, approached him, calling him first by his popular Alias, and then by his name. Disturbed, Gale started slowly backing away. The Beast, however, waved his hand, and a sense of relief somehow pervaded his mind, though he was still cautious. The Beast told him of an Organization called the Dark Brotherhood[1]. It was a mercenary group with links in every nation and a base hidden from all but the most clever.

Gale joined them almost immediately. His testing proved he was far beyond any regular footman, and he was promoted to an Officer immediately.
