Aowyn is often quite hard on herself, blaming herself whenever things go awry around her territory. The learning curve of a duchess further exasperates her personality. She seems most calm when in the air, where she can fly in peace with most trusted confidant: her snake-like wyvern Hera.
[edit] Appearance
Aowyn bears long, straight blond hair and blue eyes. Due to living high in the mountains, her complexion is rather pale, as with most of her people. Her clothing consists of a steel blue vest and white long-sleeved dress, its white pleaded skirt cut a few inches above the knee (similar to many peg knights). Brown high-heeled leather boots covering her knees and a pink diamond on her forehead complete the outfit.
In battle, her clothing is replaced by a blue armor suit, accented with a silver double-slitted skirt (think Lyn but with armored legs). She keeps her Delphi shield on hand to avoid inevitable arrow swarms.

Aowyn is part of the Hohenberge’s leading line of dukes and duchesses: the Andraste Clan. According to the legend (taking place just after the Scouring), her grandfather traveled to the Tavrica region on word of a prophet. And so, this man led his family and several others to the Hohenberge Range, previously non-existent just a couple years ago. Amazed by such a feature just popping out of nowhere, the group delved further into the maze of crags and mountains to find something far more magnificent. They faced a giant cliff, and carved its face was the face of a large fortress. Neither natural nor manmade, the group quickly made this place their base. And so the Hohenberge dukedom was born.
Fast-forward to the present, and things in Hohenberge are in a bit shaky. Their previous leader Duke Colwyn went with a unit of soldiers to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a convoy of supplies. Neither he nor the unit returned. After one month of searching, he was declared dead. This left Aowyn as the new duchess of Hohenberge. Since her recent ascension, convoy attacks have only increased in frequency, causing a lack of supplies to the capital and surrounding areas. This in turn has jacked up food prices and has made many citizens very angry. On top of keeping the territory from going into total anarchy, Aowyn also is guardian to her 13-year old sister, Elen. This sudden thrust of responsibilities has left Aowyn with many sleepless nights and not too much free time.
