Geling Shang

Geling Shang is a long-time friend and former classmate of Peimin Ni as well as a professor at Grand Valley State University and co-founder of the Shanghai program. He also is native to Shanghai, though he is an American citizen. He is the first to have become an 'extended' family member to any of Teh Unholy Trio. Unbeknownst to him he is one of those listed in the section Final Fantasy X/X-2 counterparts; he is Jecht.

History concerning Teh Unholy Trio

During the second day of the trip to Shanghai in 2005, Shang was asked by some random visitors to the museum in the TV Tower why he was leading a bunch of American students around. Yuna made a joke that she was his daughter and the joke stuck, eventually becoming as close to fact as possible. Shang also adopted Auron and Rikku along with Ni.

• He has recently published his first book in English on the Daoist Philosopher Zhuangzi and another philosopher known as Nietsche.
• He enjoys both basketball and tennis
• He beat the rest of the students climbing up a mountain to the Great Wall of China smoking a cigarrette and drinking Coke. No one knows how he did this
