Whisper a charm of suggestion and make him agree.

"Right, I still have a job to do, anyway. If I don't get that heirloom, I can kiss my job goodbye."

You smile and gesture down the hallway. "Let's go then, I'll watch your back."

Following him the way he must've used to escape, you see the broken arms of guardian golems and strewn parts of enchanted suits of armor. It was impressive that alone the half-orc made it out the way he did.

"Hold on," you tell him as you two approach a flight of stairs to a lower part of the ruin. "There's a magic barrier through here."

He stares. "I ran through it just fine."

"That was before I got here, and before I filled your body full of magic," you explain. "That barrier's going to trigger a trap once we go through. It'll probably activate more guards."

"Is there any way around?"

You shrug. "I'm saying this just so you're ready for what happens next. But, I might be able to dispel it if we take the time."

He nods and looks around. "You're the wizard, but I say we're not in a good position here to fight. The stairs and the hallway are going to close us in. We'll be trapped in a fight with nowhere to go."
