You dive to the ground and use the pew as cover from the gunman. It doesn't deter him from opening up with his pistol and sending bullets whizzing over your head as well as striking the pew you're hiding behind.
Each time he fires the sound of the gunshots seem to be closer. You get the feeling he is walking down the isle between the pews as he shoots in order to try getting to you. If you don't think of a plan before he gets to you, you'll be killed!
