You keep your head down as you scramble on all fours down across the room to the closest wall. You wait until the gunshots are coming from about the center of the room, then crawl faster that you've ever crawled before along the wall to circle around behind him. He doesn't seem to notice you and keeps firing at the spot he'd seen you duck down earlier until he is just around the corner from finding out you'd moved.
He jumps around that corner and pulls the trigger several times, only to find that not only are you not there but the gun offers up only clicking noises as he used up all his bullets just getting there.
You glance to him, then the door. You're about equal distance from either.
