You arrive in the Great hall before anyone else, all the others are either asleep or getting ready for the ceremony in their chambers. You wander around the chamber for a while before your eyes are drawn to the giant mural that decorates the ceiling of the hall. You remember the art in the capita city has always been of a great interest to you and your brother, you can only imagine that your brother chose to get married here because of it. Of course your father had no objections, he hated travel ever since the kingdoms to the north started to encroach onto his territory, and that he was happy Siegbald was getting married in the first place.
You toke your seat next to the chair reserved for your sister and your father the king, as you absentmindedly rearranging your silver where the two double doors opened and the wife of one of your brothers and own friends entered the room along with the other people your brother chose as decoration experts. You thought the hole thing was a bit silly, but your brother was always one to stick to traditions so you didn't bring up the issue of spending more money on the wedding than your army was given.
As you looked over at the group of workers you felt embarrassed being the only one here, certainly no scandal would come about this.
