"I don't know," she says, still watching. She swallows so hard you can hear it.
"You're beautiful. We've both been through a lot. Can't we just have a few minutes as two human beings, together, and forget what's happening out there?"
"You're fucking nuts!" She says, shaking her head. Still watching though. You're as hard as a rock now, and she can see it.
"Cassandra," you say very softly. "Please." And you take a single step towards her.
