You reach out and take her hand. She doesn't fight it. In fact, she looks up to you and her eyes have softened. "I'm scared," she says quietly.
"Me too," you say softly, as you pull her towards you. She wraps her arms around you and you find yourself in a tender moment of embrace. Your arms take her in and you squeeze her to your body. She's warm, despite being soaking wet from being outside, and she tucks her cheek into your chest and just holds you.
