An Embarrassing Adventure/outside-bang door

You push against the door, but it is no use; the door is apparently a one-way exit to the outside. Was there a warning next to it that you missed or something?
You pause to consider if you should attract attention to yourself by banging on it, but decide it is worth the risk and pound against the door with your fist. You listen, but it does not seem anyone is near the other side. You return to pounding it, and yell out for someone to let you back in.
No reply. Now people are starting to look at you; maybe you should look for another path.
