Background Ties

From Circle Of The Crone

Mary Sue Skvarcek Looking for background ties, former lovers, friends, enemies, mentors, childer, etc... anywhere from the early 1800's to present. Email if interested in working out details.

Due to some quirks in her background, any childer she embraces will not end up becoming involved with her actual Lineage, she knows nothing about her sire's family line, and thus hasn't paid attention to those standards when embracing. She did it for her own reasons, because the person amused her, because she was bored, because they were pretty, because she thought it might be interesting to turn them into a Succubus and let them loose on the world, because she wanted to corrupt them... Or, of course, if they happened to follow Lilith, that would be a big reason she'd have done it.

Especially looking for other Bahari pc's, Followers of Lilith from anytime including before her birth. Possibly some who might have known her parents and been involved in the (literally underground) cult in mid 1700's London.

Other ties dating back to her mortal days. Anyone who would have been involved with the Bluestocking Society between 1750-59. Members of London Society (lords, ladies, peasants, anyone) between 1750-59 that she may have encountered. Anyone who would have participated in Society Balls, parties, etc during her Come-Out 1757-1759.

Mary likes to travel, it is possible she settled in your area for a time (especially if she saw the chance for romance).

notes: more info on the Bluestockings Bluestocking, Online Encyclopedia, Wiki Bluestocking page (I can't get the internal link to work right, feh.)

Mary is also a Romance Novelist, mainly specializing in "cheesey romances" in the Regency style, where the raciest thing that happens is that the girl allows herself to be kissed by someone who isn't her fiance. Literary society believes the name "Mary Skvarcek" to be ghost writing pseudonym, as the first novel was published in the 1800's and have continued through to present day. Recently the righs were bought out by a new publishing house and are being re-released in preparation for a new beginning. In recent decades, more modern plots have begun to emerge, even sometimes straying into the 'smut' category... but it is obvious that the style and substance of the original Mary's intent remains beneath that.

Within kindred society, it is suspected in some cases and known in others... The author draws from her own life and experiences when she writes. Each novel is a tale of one of her own Romances, with changes made to the story for masquerade purposes. Each former lover recieves an autographed copy of their own tale and the dedication page thanks them for their contribution toward inspiring the story.

She claims, also, to have played Muse to multiple individuals during her time. Poets, composers, even architects... Although she says little beyond "Oh, I remember the days that Byron and I spent together. We would be making love, or walking beneath the stars, or dining together. Suddenly he would tell me 'Don't move' and after a period of feverish scribbling he would present me with some lovely new bit of fluff that he had written..."

And yes, for those who are familiar with the fanfiction term of Mary Sue she is based off of this idea, although she is a bit of a spoof of it. Yes, she considers herself to be perfect, she exaggerates her own accomplishments and exploits to some degree. (More to the point of having actually been present "I stood in the dark corner and watched as the two gunmen squared off, it was obviously that only one would walk away alive but they were so evenly matched it was hard to guess which would be the victor. Everyone in the room held their breaths as the guns emerged, shots were fired, it all happened so fast we had to wait for the smoke to clear before we could even see which had fallen..." than having been any kind of hero.) She claims to have known people who lived during her time, claims to have been close or even intimate with them, and in some cases may actually be telling the truth.

In her LiveJournal, I plan to post her version of events, games, her romances, as well as stories written about people she has background ties to (the player will, of course, have some lisence over it, and I'm more than willing to make collaborative efforts) and they will have that particular undertone of the way a Mary Sue would tell the tale, especially one who has established herself as a Regency Romance Novelist (fame x2)

This character is extremely flexible as far as reasons she might have done something, been somewhere, gotten involved with someone. She is particularly fond of Nosferatu and Gangrel. She likes to surround herself with physically powerful people who can protect her, if it comes to that. She is extremely manipulative when it comes to her dealings with mortals, but she never mistreats them. It becomes more difficult to play a game if you abuse or lose your pieces, you know.

If you are curious, have any questions, or are interested in linking backgrounds, please Email me... There is a lot of potential for fun and hijinks with this PC!

Thanks, Shanon.
