Uraine

The oldest of the gods, save only Zokthis and Krai, Uraine is at once the mightiest and the most removed of deities. She had untold ages to study under her father before the birth of the other gods, and she created much of the universe with him. She wove a web in the heavens and hung the stars from it so that he would have something beautiful to look up at, and he made the land a mirror so that she would have something beautiful to look down upon. It was due to her boredom that Zokthis invented time and gave it over to her as a gift. It was due to her loneliness that he created first Vornik and then Tyani, Cernin, and Monsos. Each of these younger deities pays deference to Uraine, for none can escape her web without falling into nothingness.
Uraine values nothing in the world save the beauty of nature and the maintenance of its existence. She can see the aesthetic value in acts of altruism or acts of depravity, and watches both from the Font of Hours with equal interest. Since mortals learned of her existence, she has picked up a second Aspect as the Mistress of the Tide, governing the regular cycles by which mortals live their lives. Anyone at sea pays thanks to her for providing stars to navigate by, for regulating the seasons so that the winds are predictable, and for demanding that Dezzik not linger too long over his foes and burn the earth beneath him. Her older Aspect, the Skypainter, is revered by any who seek to emulate the beauty of the stars, and by those who wish to understand the most ancient secrets of creation.
