Tyani was the third child and second daughter of Zokthis, and it was she who first created life. She gained her father's instant adoration for Naming the first seed, and from it grew the first tree of what would later become the Night Forest. Together, they set about creating lush gardens all over the world, filled with beautiful flowers and strange fragrances. It was Tyani's creations that inspired her younger brother Cernin to take matters a step further and create animal life. Tyani was frightened that her brother's more powerful creations might consume all her works, and so she granted gifts of thorns and bark to her children, and persuaded Vornik to aid her by granting poison to many of her more beautiful creations.

Tyani was and is a generous and forgiving soul, and quickly grew to like many of the creatures Cernin created. It was she who taught the children of the other gods which fruits were safe to eat, which cacti contained reserves of water, how to grow their crops, and which plants would aid in the arts of healing. She donned the Aspect of the Lady of the Waves, ferrying water from the seas to the land to feed her children, and for thousands of years she watched over the world, helping life along wherever she could, rebuilding after Monsos had passed. Her father created Gern to accompany her, and together they nourished and tended to the earth and the needs of life upon it.

Unfortunately for Tyani, Zokthis saw fit to create the younger gods to govern the affairs of mortal ideology. While she got along well with Gulzek and Mozik and Hirzek, Dezzik became infatuated with her. The Thirster demanded that Tyani become his consort and, when she refused, waged a war to take her by force. He defeated the assembled armies of Gern and Gulzek, and managed to distract Mozik with a false army. He smote Gern to the ground with ease, and crippled Gulzek, and forcibly carried Tyani back to the Sun. She fought him with every weapon in the natural world's arsenal, but Dezzik was accustomed to battle and she was not. After a day and a night of struggle, he threw her back to the earth, burnt, violated, and dessicated.

As punishment for his crime, Tyani withdrew her protection from Dezzik's people. His lands grew arid and harsh, and the earth cracked. Dezzik's mortal followers, who had been accustomed to life in fertile grasslands, found themselves in a harsh desert where their crops crumbled to ash, the rains didn't come, the air scorched their eyes, and they began to starve. Only when the goblins began to forsake their god did she come to their aid, in her new guise as Cactus Woman. In this Aspect, she protects the world from Dezzik and those like him, and teaches the world to struggle against tyrants lest all the life be leeched from the people.
