Rocky VII is the second episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series. In the episode, Pegasus steals Solomon Muto's soul, and invites Yugi to Duelist Kingdom.

- Title: 'Rocky VII'
The title is a reference to the Rocky series, which has six movies.
- Yami: In tonight's episode, the part of Tristan Taylor will be played by Barney the Dinosaur.
and
- Tristian: (singing) I love you! You love me! We're a happy family!
and
- Tristan: Hey, look! I'm on TV!
- Joey: What are ya talking about, Tristan? That's just a purple dinosaur
All are references to Barney the Dinosaur, the title character of the children's TV show Barney & Friends.
- Joey: Really? I don't even get a training montage?
- Grandpa: Who do you think you are, Rocky Balboa?
Another reference to the Rocky series, known for its training montages, featuring its title character, a boxer named Rocky Balboa.
- Yugi: These guys sound awfully familiar
This is a reference to the fact that in Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series the voices and characters of Rex Raptor and Weevil Underwood are based directly on the cartoon characters Beavis and Butt-head.
- Grandpa: I just hope it's not one of those cursed video tapes that are all the rage these days..
- Pegasus (on tape): Seven days.
This is a reference to Ring, a Japanese horror film about a cursed video tape that causes everybody who watches it to die seven days later.
- Yami: Whatchoo talking 'bout Peagasus?
This is a reference to the catchphrase “Whatchoo talking 'bout, Willis?”, frequently said by Gary Coleman on the American sitcom Diff’rent Strokes.
