- | ==Character Synopsis== | + | ==Omi== |
- | An orphan trained as a monk since birth, Omi is the Xiaolin Dragon of Water. He is short and almost always appears wearing his Xiaolin robe. Omi is bald and has nine dots on his forehead that are likely to be literal parallels to incense burn marks that Buddhist monks receive to distinguish themselves amongst other monks. They tend to glow before Omi uses his special attacks or when he senses danger approaching.

- | His element, water, represents how he can be like a calm pond or a raging tsunami. He takes his work very seriously and is the only one that wears his Xiaolin robe at all times. He does not see the world as black and white which helps him, but also sometimes hinders him. He often mixes up common idioms or slang talk for light humor; for example, he says "talk to the fingers" instead of "talk to the hand", "extremely icy" instead of "Very cool" and "what comes in circles goes the other way in circles" instead of "what comes around goes around". He sees himself as the leader of the four Xiaolin Dragons, usually taking it hard on himself when he causes the team to lose a Shen Gong Wu or a seemingly easy battle. Omi is also extremely vain, even to the point of driving Raimundo to run away, twice. He believes he is the strongest monk of all and sees the others as worlds beneath his level of strength, while he is the strongest monk he is not the wisest which is why Raimundo was chosen to be leader. He is not above projecting his failures or shortcomings onto the others however, often criticizing Raimundo for becoming the last monk to become a Xiaolin apprentice but that will probably change now that Raimundo has become leader. He is kind and short, but he has proven multiple times that strength is not measured by one's size. He is also a vegetarian and deathly afraid of squirrels. | + | |

- | Omi used to be the sole Xiaolin Dragon at the Temple until the arrival of three others Clay, Kimiko and Raimundo. Though he was quite excited at the prospect of having to teach them, he found they were there also to teach him in return. He, in one episode, believes that females were inferior to males, and had read a book called "The Ancient Guide to Females" to compliment this. His tune changed when he congratulated Kim for her focusing skills.

- | He fought diligently with the other Xiaolin Dragons against Jack Spicer and the Heylin witch, Wuya. When Raimundo went to the Heylin side and helped Wuya take over the world, Omi went back in time using Jack Spicer's time machine to seek help from the only other person to have defeated Wuya, Grand Master Dashi.

- | Unfortunately, despite getting a box to seal Wuya in, Omi was unable to get back as the time machine he went through was only one way. However, he managed to come up with a solution - freeze himself with the Orb of Tornami and wait until he was back in the present day, at which point he helped the other Xiaolin Dragons change Raimundo's heart and ways, upon which the witch was defeated.

- | Despite Wuya's defeat, Omi and his friends would not escape fights with the Heylin side and eventually Omi is stalked by the Heylin Tai Chi Master, Chase Young. He is taught a few new moves and constantly tested by the Chase Young, unconsciously prodded towards the Heylin side by the evil Heylin villain.

- | Through a fabricated prophecy, Chase Young tricks Omi into joining up with him as a member of his special forces, an army of various kinds of cats, in the form of a yellow kitten. He was then saved by his friends in a game of Xiaolin Soccer. When Omi and his fellow monks were told to go on their choice of quest, the outcome of which would finally determine who would be Team Leader, Omi decided to travel back in time and stop Hannibal Roy Bean from turning Chase Young evil. He froze himself with the Orb of Tornami and traveled to the future, where he hoped he could find Old Omi and recover the Sands of Time. However, he failed to grasp the fact that he wouldn't be there to grow old, and so while he slept, Jack Spicer took advantage of his absence and became ruler of the world, imprisoning the other monks and his evil competitors. However, with the help of the older Kimiko, Raimundo and Clay, Omi was able to steal the Sands and continue his quest.

- | Upon arriving in the distant past, Omi was able to witness Wuya's imprisonment, and was able to succeed in stopping Chase's betrayal (by swapping Hannibal's Lao-Mang-Lone Soup with Pea Soup). Unfortunately, he realized his objective had not gone completely according to plan when he returned to a very unexpected present... his changing time had led Hannibal to convert Master Monk Guan after his failure with Chase, who was far more powerful, kicking the monks out of the temple and imprisoning Master Fung in the Ying-Yang World. Omi refused to give in, and with the help from his demoralized friends and a good Chase Young, he attacked the temple, stopped himself from travelling to the future and set things right.

- | His signature Shen Gong Wu is the Orb of Tornami, which he almost always has with him. With it, he can either use a water attack, an ice attack, or most recently, a steam attack. His most powerful elemental attacks/strikes are Tsunami Strike and Tornado Strike. He can turn his water attack into an ice attack using Tornado Strike. When he is later promoted to a Wudai Warrior along with the other Xiaolin Warriors, his Wudai attack is Wudai Neptune—Water, and uses the Shimo Staff, a small ice rod that can change into ice weapons, such as a bo staff, spear, axe, etc. His elemental Shen Gong Wu is called the Kaijin Charm, which makes weapons formed by the Shimo Staff bigger and more powerful. When Omi found the Shimo Staff, he yelled "What?! My Wudai weapon is a pitiful stick?!"

- | Omi is fairly unique in that he is the main character of the series, yet he displays mastery over the element of water. In most series, the main protagonist wields fire (e.g. Wheeler from Captain Planet and the Planeteers and various Red Rangers); in Xiaolin Showdown, fire is wielded by Kimiko.
