Tony Hakim The Mentor

I chair the Anti-Depression Association of Australia (ADAA) which Tony Hakim mentors in. The organization won't be feasible if it was not for him. He showed us various approaches to make this work. We are actually setting up this association for so long. The project is tremendous. Neither of us did a not-for-profit business previously, so it is actually unique to us.

What's good is the fact that, over the years, we had created a good working relationship. I initially met him during the time that we were studying at Marist Brothers Pagewood. I met up with him via his brother, to whom I have been friends with.

We got out of school and I did didn't see Tony for a long time until I bumped into him at some point. That's the moment when I was a consultant concurrently Tony had a small Telco business.

Before having this company, I first worked for Minister for Consumer Affairs - composing the Minister's personal response to several letters. That period of time trained me the ability of reading and interpreting an act of parliament.

When I looked into Tony's market, I browse the act and realized there was clearly an opportunity. If Tony could aggregate his customers' billings, then he can resell Telco services that were then limited to Optus and Telstra.

I visited one day to his town, to show him just what he might do . And the next thing I realized, he is into reselling. His employee expanded from 16 to 200 in merely one year ... Then sold his company to Digicall.

I went to build my own family. He went to create his main venture. Then three years later , he returned and asked me to do what we can create this time around. I advised him that I always liked a nationwide Telco venture.

We combined a billing platform with a hardware system so customers can save cash. We acquired Jeff Kennett as our first chair. He didn't disappoints, as just before the year ends, we had 500 staff and contractors already. The notion that a person has the ability to use their bill credits to help offset other Telco expenses, with several similarities to how the cell phone structure performs. Folks get on plans because they are a more beneficial way to high-ticket technology. We likewise had landline plans which is a customer fave.

That brings us to the present-day ADAA. Tony is a investment expert and a excellent planner. And a excellent mate too. For instance, I spoke to him that we now understand just how to fix anxiety and depression however it has large costs attached. He scrutinized the present business model, discovering the vital "fix" of the service. He proposed that we might set it up online. The upfront expense may be higher but at least we just need to pay once. The moment it is set up,he said, you can scale it and charge much less , serving and aiding so many more consumers.

Tony supported me to come up with various product which is set to launch on March 18. They will help, possibly, thousands of consumers.

He is a man of few words. You can see I am proud to name Tony Hakim a friend.
