Worm Cup summary

This Worm Cup was full of the expected, and the unexpected. The atmosphere has been great. There were many suprises, Oriental Squad and Name failed to top their groups, which were won by Medieval Warriors and Super Horace Team respectively. The Tymes shocked Other Villains in a Play-Off, and reached the Third Round, beating seeded Spongebob Team in the Second Round, before losing to Super Joel Team. Holders Cyborgs were eliminated in the Third Round by Clean Queen Team, who experienced a brilliant return to form. There were epic matches in each round, the best of them being Nature Strike v Utensils in the Third Round. Masters reached the Quarter-Finals for the first time since 1999. However, some of the results were slightly predicatble. Only three unseeded teams made it to the Third Round. The Villains and Snoic Team were always the favourites, and justified that tag. But on the whole, the Worm Cup has been a good one.

Verdict: 8/10
