THE STORY
Altamira, also known as the World of Seasons by those who live on it. The name given by scholars for a simple reason: the planet has four distinct regions that had their own year-long seasons. It is unknown, as of now, of how one region can carry on a season for a whole year; however, it is rumoured that it just might be the magic of the guardians that reside in each region. It is the only thing people can think of.
It is the only explanation.
These four regions reign supreme over Altamira and are the only continents on the planet. They are named as followed: (SPRING) The Region of Cherry Blossoms, Fugenzo; (AUTUMN) the Region of Falling Leaves, Aldawine; (WINTER) the Region of Everlasting White, Ellatha; (SUMMER) the Region of Moving Sands, Neshwar.
These regions, however, are war torn and still recovering from battles that occurred more than over hundreds of years ago. Old villages with long-forgotten names lay along the roadsides, a reminder to those who wish to forget about their world's past.
However...who will listen to the tales of a scarred land? A land with a painful history filled with friendships and mistrust?
Only the Guardians will, it seems.
THE GUARDIANS
THE GUARDIANS, those who have been watching over the land and people of Altamira since the beginning (or so it is said in the old scriptures).
Eksinta, the god of Winter, retainer of wisdom and knowledge, is said to be a beautiful bird of fire. Yet how can such words be known as the truth when the only people who have ever seen this Guardian are long since dead? It is also rumoured that Eksinta lives in the City of Illusion. If that is true perhaps the people there can shed light on this Guardian's wondered looks?
Seiobo, Goddess of the Spring, Mother of Nature and Cultivation. It is said that she is the reason that the Cherry Blossom trees' petals grow back, even after they are shed. Those who have laid eyes on her have said that she is a woman of beauty, that which would rival the moon's, and that she has the heart of a mother and the soul of a lamb. She is said to live on the Great Mountain Hoshiyono.
Lakshmi, Goddess of the Summer; also known as the goddess of light, beauty, and wealth. Her presence in Neshwar makes the other regions wonder that, if she is the goddess of fortune, why she could not have allowed her people a more livable land to inhabit. There will never be an answer to that, it seems, as no one has 'Italic text' seen this Guardian. And those who do live in the sand-infested lands know better than to question their Guardian...her wrath is know to be as deadly as a snake's bite.
Badb, God of the Autumn and of war. Also know as the Guardian of death and rebirth. He lives in the Forest of Amation and watches over Aldawine with a careful eye and wise mind. His voice is said to carry on the wind and test the current king's power, to see how well he can hold up to ill-whispers of how well the land would be if they conquered the other Regions. Mischief is Badb's favorite game, it would seem.
THE SETTING
World of Seasons is an AU (alternate universe) game, which means it does not tie into the canon storylines of a game, anime, or manga. Altamira is the place that the characters grew up, it is their home and the only home they have ever known. Their history and back-story should (and must) revolve around that fact.
Those who were killed in their respective fandom are not dead here because, as you know, whatever happened there did not happen in Altamira (not yet, at least). So, unless otherwise stated, they are up for application.
