Background
Brianna MacArthur was born to Haldir and Niniela, in Caras Galadhon, Lorien. When she was a week old, she was kidnapped by Gwathrendin, a Mayar wizard who was expunged from all record for his betrayal in kidnapping Galadriel's other granddaughter (in this universe, Haldir, Rumil, and Orophin were Celebrian's siblings, making Brianna Arwen's cousin).
Eighteen years later, Haldir, Legolas, and Gimli managed to track her down through use of a space/time portal that took them to . . . Manhattan in 2003.

Brianna was pulled from just minutes before she was to meet her future in-laws, Thranduil and Anoriel of Mirkwood. After she was in the new reality for a month, Legolas arrived, and the pair decided to forgoe the formal ceremony and do the elven handfasting thing. When her father arrived, they kept their true relationship secret, afraid that he would be angry.
Now
Brianna was in the middle of planning their official wedding when Legolas abruptly disappeared from the new world, leaving her devastated.
