Coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ruach was in a tough spot, during BBYO on-demand virtual programming barely any guys would show up to meetings, and going into the 2021-2022 programming year Ruach had a 1 person executive board and only 2 active members. Most people thought this would be the end of Ruach, including us. But through hard work and dedication Ruach grew to be the strongest AZA chapter in the region once again. We ended that year with 2 regional awards, an international grant, and the most regional representation on the 45th regional board. This, just like it was proved in the 2000s, proved that there is something special about Ruach and it will stay around for a good while longer.

Ruach AZA is the manliest, proudest, most sophisticated, well-mannered, crazy, and awesome chapter in the history of the world. We function out of Brooklyn, NY. We are a part of the Big Apple Region.

Ruach has a Youth Leadership Training class, run by their adviser Spence Packer, from January to May. It is one of a kind in the international order.

[edit] History

Ruach AZA was founded in 1987 when it split off from what is now Ruach BBG and formed its own chapter. That is why Ruach AZA and Ruach BBG both have the same number of boards even though Ruach AZA's charter date is earlier. Ruach was a part of the BMA Area in the beginning but was the strongest chapter in that Area and currently (2023) The Ruach chapters are the only ones left from the BMA Area.

Ruach AZA almost folded at the turn of the century having barely any guys who came to meetings. The chapter almost lost its charter by not being large enough to fulfill the required number of members to keep it. But through hard work and dedication, the chapter grew and rose to fame. The chapter then became one of the biggest in the order having 20, 30, or even 40 guys show up to a meeting. Ruach won both regional and international awards for their growth and stayed the strongest AZA chapter in both numbers and brotherhood for years to come.
