The following is a list of major and minor characters from the Square Enix role-playing game Final Fantasy X-2. See also List of Final Fantasy X characters.
All characters on the game belong to one of the 5 sentient races available in the world of Spira which are: The Ronso, The Hypello, The Guado, The Al Bhed and regular Humans. Among regular humans there appears to be a small subgroup of little people formed by Tobli and others like him, that are smaller and use a distinctive long beaked mask accompanied by some distinctive clothing that may indicate a 5th ethnicity in Spira.
Characters can become immortal after they die, depending on how much skill and help they have. Immortals can be either Unsent or Fayth. During the game Shuyin and Lenne, a couple of Unsent lovers that have been trying to get reunited for 1,000 years cause a lot of trouble to Spira and Yuna, aided by her friends Rikku and Paine has to save the day once again.

Gullwings
The Gullwings (カモメ団) are a group of sphere hunters, consisting of Yuna, Rikku, Paine, and several others.
- Brother (アニキ Aniki): Rikku's older brother, and self-proclaimed leader of the Gullwings. He is also the founder and main pilot of the Celsius. He has an unrequited crush on Yuna (in spite of the fact that she is his first cousin) and is constantly trying to woo her even though her heart already belongs to Tidus. Sometime after the Eternal Calm fell, Brother and Cid parted ways under hostile circumstances, which gives Brother the opportunity to expand his emotions. Brother named his airship "Celsius" in a direct contrast to Cid's "Fahrenheit" of Final Fantasy X, which was never revealed in the English-speaking versions.
- Buddy (ダチ Dachi): Old friend of Brother, a co-pilot of the Celsius, and co-founder of the Gullwings with Brother. His level-headedness contrasts sharply with Brother's manic behavior. The player mostly interacts with him when choosing destinations for the airship.
- Shinra (シンラ Shinra): A young Al Bhed who works aboard the Celsius. A technological savant, he is responsible for the creation of of the dressphere system and many other technical innovations and takes every opportunity to remind the others of how much they depend on his inventions.
- Barkeep (マスター Masutā): A Hypello (originally picked up as a hitchhiker) who now works aboard the Celsius.
LeBlanc Syndicate
The LeBlanc Syndicate (ルブラン一味 Ruburan Ichimi) is a group of Sphere hunters who are the rivals of the Gullwings. Employs its own mercenary legion to aid and guard its members on sphere hunting quests.
- LeBlanc (ルブラン Ruburan): The leader of the LeBlanc Syndicate. She has a not-so-secret infatuation with Meyvn Nooj which sometimes brings out her more sensitive side.
- Ormi (うのう Unou): Professional lackey, first for Yevon, now for LeBlanc. Uses a large shield as a weapon. His Japanese name means "right brain".
- Logos (さのう Sanou): Another of LeBlanc's hired helpers. Formerly worked for Yevon with Ormi. Wields a pair of twin revolvers as his weapon. His Japanese name means "left brain".
Youth League
The Youth League (青年同盟 Seinen Dōmei) is a political/military organization which emerged in the wake of Sin's defeat and whose members advocate radical reform of the Spiran social, religious, and political systems. Its progressive attitude has attracted many former Crusaders and younger citizens of Spira to its ranks; although a proactive organization, its demographic makeup has earned its members a reputation as hotheaded and reckless.
- Meyvn Nooj (ヌージ Nūji): A former Crusader known for his fearlessness in battle, and now the leader of the Youth League, Nooj suffered massive damage to the left side of his body in a battle against Sin, including the loss of his left arm and leg. These lost limbs were subsequently replaced with machina prosthetics and Nooj came to be known as "Nooj the Undying." Though highly respected and admired by his peers, Nooj had a great deal of difficulty adjusting to his mechanical limbs and was called a "Deathseeker" due to his suicidal tendencies in battle and reckless disregard for his own life. As a Crimson Squad candidate, Nooj had been close friends with Paine, Gippal, and Baralai until the day of the group's final excercise. In the Den of Woe beneath Mushroom Rock Road, Nooj was possessed by Shuyin and was later forced to shoot his comrades, an act of apparent treachery that left deep wounds in the friendship they'd once shared. In the time that followed, Nooj would begin working to uncover the Church of Yevon's buried secrets in the hopes that he may locate and destroy the massive machina weapon known as "Vegnagun." Two years later, during the final battles of Final Fantasy X-2, Nooj and his one time friends would be at last reconciled, joining forces with the Gullwings and the Leblanc Syndicate in final battle with Shuyin and Vegnagun.
- Elma (エルマ Eruma): Lucil's partner from Final Fantasy X img. She is a member of the Youth League. img
- Lucil (ルチル Ruchiru): Captain of the Chocobo Knights from Final Fantasy X [[Image:Chocoboknights_8.jpg|img]. She is now the commander of the Youth League forces, as Nooj's right-hand woman. img
- Yaibal (ヤイバル Yaibaru): Somewhat overeager recent recruit of the Youth League who is continually trying to solicit Yuna's support for the organization. First appeared in the "Final Fantasy X: Another Story" video epilogue to the international version of Final Fantasy X. (Note: Yaibal's likeness is used by several NPC characters on Final Fantasy X, including the aeon Ifrit's fayth) img
- Maroda (マローダ Marōda): Ex. Summoner Isaaru's guardian and younger brother from Final Fantasy X. He is a member of the Youth League. img
- Dona (ドナ Dona): Yuna's rival summoner from Final Fantasy X. She is a member of the Youth League. img
- Beclem (ベクレム Bekuremu): A captain of the Youth League who is assigned to oversee the Besaid Aurochs' training after they join the League. A terse, practical-minded man, he disapproves of what he views as the people's unnecessary dwelling upon the legacy of the summoners and the old Yevon traditions. It is later revealed that he once fought alongside Wakka's brother Chappu with the Crusaders. (Note: Beclem's likeness is used by several NPC characters on Final Fantasy X, including the aeon Yojimbo's fayth) img
New Yevon Party
The New Yevon Party (新エボン党 Shin Ebon Tō) is a conservative group led by Praetor Baralai. Inspired by the now-defunct Yevon religion, New Yevon promises to make up for their predecessor's transgressions by providing a source of support for those who feel overwhelmed by the rapid changes sweeping Spira. Their motto is "One Thing At A Time", believing that a slow evolution of Spira's customs is the only way to prevent complete anarchy. Following the forced resignation of the last praetor, New Yevon is run by a committee of younger members. The faction is opposed by the Youth League, led by Nooj. This causes some tension later in the game, when the player must decide to give an item of historical significance to one group or the other.
- Trema : The founder of the first Sphere Hunter group in Spira, Trema later founded the New Yevon Party and led it for the first year until he disappeared mysteriously after collecting a large cache of spheres from Spira's past. Late in FFX-2, the unsent spirit of Trema can be found at the bottom of Bevelle's Via Infinito dungeon. img
- Praetor Baralai (バラライ Bararai): Former Crimson Squad candidate along with Nooj and Gippal, and praetor of New Yevon after Trema's disappearance, the young man named "Baralai" worked his way into his position in order to learn more about Vegnagun. Baralai and his former Crimson Squad comrades had seen visions of the massive machina during their fateful final field excercise, a tragedy which lead to the severing of their friendship and trust in one another after the spirit of Shuyin possessed Nooj and forced him to shoot his friends. A sphere recording that can be obtained by the player displays a link with Final Fantasy X, revealing that Baralai went to Seymour Guado for aid and protection after his parting from his former comrades. This meeting apparently set him on the path to attaining leadership of the New Yevon faction. Ultimately, Baralai and his former comrades regain their friendship and trust in one another, and after working together to save the world from Shuyin alongside the Gullwings and Leblance Syndicate, they continue working together to plan a better future for the world of Spira at large. img
- Isaaru (イサール Isāru): Yuna's fellow summoner from Final Fantasy X. He is now a tour guide for Zanarkand, which has been turned into a tourist attraction. img
- Barthello(バルテロ Barutero): Dona's guardian and lover. He is a member of New Yevon. Because of this (Barthello and Dona belong to different factions that are constantly fighting), their relationship soured, and they are not on good terms by the start of the game. Player's actions over the courses of the game can re-unite them, however. img
Machine Faction
A third philosophy, the Machine Faction (マキナ派 Makina ha), prefers to stay out of the main political conflict in Spira, but their awesome military influence makes them a relevant factor as they are pioneers of machina research, which was banned during the Yevon reign of Spira. The Machine Faction are entirely composed of Al Bhed, and use the term "machine" to distance their creations from the negative connotations of "machina", although in the Japanese version of the game, the word "machina" is in their name anyway.
- Gippal (ギップル Gippuru): Former Crimson Squad candidate and current leader of the Machine Faction, the Al Bhed known as "Gippal" once served with Nooj and Baralai during their Crimson Squad candidacy, and forged a powerful friendship with his comrades, including their recorder, Paine. Sadly, this friendship was shattered on the day of their final candidate excercise. After watching the other Crimson Squad candidates brutally murder one another under the influence of Shuyin's despair and malice, Gippal, Baralai, and Paine were shot by Nooj who had been possessed by Shuyin himself. Gippal would then dedicate himself to learning all he could about machina in the hopes that he could use this information to subdue or destroy the behemoth machina Vegnagun, which had long laid hidden beneath Bevelle. Gippal and his former friends would later reuinite and work together to save Spira from Shuyin's self-destructive desire to end all life. Gippal has an unspecificed past relationship with Rikku, though he insinutates it to have been of a romantic nature. Rikku's defensive protests to this suggestion lead Paine to believe that it is most likely true, despite her friend's claims to the contrary.
- Nhadala (ナーダラ Nādara): Member of the Machine Faction. She's in charge of excavating the Bikanel Desert.

- O'aka XXIII: A freelance merchant from Final Fantasy X who bought the Lake Macalania travel agency from Rin. However, the nearby Macalania Temple sank to the bottom of the lake immediately afterward, taking his business with it. With few travelers now passing through the area, O'aka spends his days evading the Al Bhed loan agents to whom he is in debt. img
- Kimahri Ronso (キマリ・ロンゾ Kimari Ronzo): One of Yuna's guardians from Final Fantasy X. He is now the elder of the Ronso tribe, and is working hard to unite his people. He also seeks to foster a positive relationship between the Ronso and the Guado following Seymour's decimation of the Ronso. img

- Lian and Ayde: Young Ronsos who left Mt. Gagazet in search of a way to fix Kimahri Ronso's broken horn. img
- Maechen : An elderly Spiran historian from Final Fantasy X. He is an unsent who lived in the days before Zanarkand was destroyed. He forgot that he was no longer alive, but his memories were rekindled when he shook Yuna's hand, whose handshake was the same as Lenne's due to Yuna wearing the Songstress Dressphere.
- Shuyin (シューイン Shūin): A native of Zanarkand who lived during the age of the Machina War between Zanarkand and Bevelle. The lover of the songstress-summoner Lenne, he refused to accept her fate when she was taken captive after being ordered to the front lines to fight, and attempted to commandeer Bevelle's machina weapon Vegnagun in the hopes of using it to end the war and free Lenne. Tragically, both Shuyin and his love were gunned down in front of Vegnagun after she prevented him from using it to take many lives for her sake. During the present, Shuyin's unsent spirit—filled with despair and self-loathing, but without the ability to fade away and be free of his suffering—desires to destroy all of Spira in the hopes that his agony may be able to end and that there can never again be a war like the one that cost him and Lenne their lives. He's mistaken by Yuna early in the game for her lost love, Tidus, due to their striking physical resemblances to one another. img
- Lenne (レン Ren): A famous singer/summoner from Zanarkand during the age of the Machina War, and Shuyin's lover. She was forced to the front lines to fight along with the other summoners in the city. She was captured at this time and Shuyin would eventually attempt using Bevelle's machina weapon Vegnagun to defeat Bevelle and free her. However, she was unwilling to allow him to take the lives of so many for her sake, and asked him to stop just as he was about to use the behemoth machina. He consented to her request, but the two were not shown the same mercy by their oppressors, and were promptly gunned down by Bevelle soldiers. Upon her death, her spirit was separated from that of Shuyin and eventually crystalized into the songstress dressphere, which was created from her memories. Although Yuna bears a marked physical resemblance to Lenne, particularly when wearing the songstress dressphere outfit, it is repeatedly emphasized that they are two separate people and that Yuna is not Lenne's reincarnation, as is often mistakenly believed. img
