Daniel Lee Hood (birthdate: August 27th, 1970 in Bowling Green, KY) is a United States Representative, currently hailing from his home district of the 2nd Congressional District of Kentucky. He is currently new to Congress, but had legislative experience in the state legislature. He is best known for being conservative on most domestic and foreign issues, but is liberal when it comes to enviroment and civil rights.

Birth, Childhood, and High School

Hood was born into a low middle class family on August 27th, 1970 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to father Micheal Hood, a medical nurse, and Janice Hood, head of international customer service at Fruit of the Loom. As a small infant, he was sick most of the time. He developed a few infections around the ears and developed a few fevers from time to time. It was discovered that a old coal heater caused most of the illnesses and the family moved to the northwest district of the county. He never developed a clear political idealogy until the age of 12. His parents did not influence his views nor even expose them until he came to late of age.

He attended Warren Central High School in 1985, and joined the Army JROTC unit there. Throughout most of his highschool years, he developed a interest into military history and other types of history. Also at the time, he developed fascist attitudes towards the so-called "corrupt" society of american youth, and calling for a social revolution to combat the rebellious youth. He did not believe in the racial and anti-religious views of National Socialism, but he did adopted their views on order, discipline, and maintaing those things.

He also wrote "Red Rising: Proletariat War", a alternate history novel setted in a timeline where the United States and Soviet Union went to war after a attack during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He won the Sidewise Award for the novel and completed two other installments of the saga.

Military Service

Before completing his Senior year, he began to talk to a Army recruiter and was enlisted into the United States Army at the age of 18. He went to Basic Training just after high school graduation in 1989 and exited Basic a E-4. He was part of the 1st Infantry Division or the "Big Red One" in 1990. Fought in Operation Desert Storm with the Division, he commanded a squad in the offensive. He completed his term in service in 1992. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart for actions he done in Iraq.

Education and Political Career

After leaving the Army, he attended Western Kentucky University double majoring in both Political Science and History. He studied abroad in Japan during his Sophmore year, learning the language and culture. He graduated from WKU in 1996. He worked for Colt Firearms Company until he ran for the State Legislature in 1998. He still held to his fascist ideals, but hid them during his term in the legislature.

In 2010, Ron Lewis retired from Congress and Daniel Hood began to campaign for the Republican Party during the 2010 Elections. He ran against Mike Weaver, Ron Lewis's opponent during the 2006 Mid-term elections. Daniel Hood won the seat at 69% against Weaver's 31%.

Currently, he is the House Majority Whip in the House.
