Benin

Though Democratic, Benin is largely poor and struggling with major health and poverty issues. Forced and child labor are far too common still. Benin has been helped by generous donor funding and by a shared hydroelectric project with Togo cutting it's energy dependence, but overall the outlook remains bleak. President Olympe Fassinou is a firm supporter of greater regional intergration.
