Richard Ewell Brown is a United States Congressman from Idaho and member of the Republican Party. Before his election to Congress in 2016, he had served in wide variety of State Government positions. He also holds the current record of being the youngest so called 'Citizen Legislators' of Idaho and is one of the youngest Congressman ever elected. Incidently he is also a distant relative of the Infamous Jonh Brown of Virginia who in the 1850's championed anti-slavery by attacking Harpers Ferry.

Early Life

He was born on 28 November 1975 to David and Patricia Brown, he was one of three children with himself being the eldest. From the outset, the Browns were poor and ironically could'nt afford the prosperous upbringing Richard was to later enjoy. In 1982, David was killed by a gunman while on business in Los Angles leaving a grieving widow and three children on their own. However, Patricia's brother - Charles E Wolff a former Navy Commander and wealthy businessman took the Browns in under his own home.

Under Charle's guidance and with his urging, Richard's life turned for the better as he became proficent in the academic subjects to be law, politics and history. In 1994, Richard attended the Idaho State University where he gained a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours in Politics. It was also here that he meet and fall in love with Laura Claire, a women from Malta studying in the US. The two found love and were married in 1996, the couple would later become the 'darlings' of Browns home town of Twin Falls Idaho.

In 1999, Richard started Yale Law School but the death of his mother forced him to abandon his studies to care for his family, since his brother and sister were still in education. In 2000 his uncle and second-father Charles Wolff also died - leaving Richard as head of the family with a fortune of over $30 million dollars. Richard thus decided to enter politics, with his political hero's being Abraham Lincoln, Richard Nixon and William McKinley.

Early Political Career

In 2003, Richard became one one of the 'Citizen Legislators' of Idaho in the State House of Representatives. Brown holds the record for being the youngest legislator so far in US Political History. Richard joined the Republican Party and spent a full eight years as a legislator, attaching himself to the moderate-left wing of the Idaho Republican Party.In 2009, Richard Brown now House Majority Leader within the Legislature. He relished the post, but only survived two years before became Acting-Secretary of State for Idaho.

Brown served a year in the post, before moving on to win his second election as Attorney General of Idaho, where he steadily built up and consolidated his position within the Republican Party membership. As the Attorney General, Brown became known as an intelligent-organiser and a good tactician when it came to the Democrats and what he called "their weak" legislative agenda.He said once, that he "hoped to show all Republicans how weak the Democratic Agenda really is" dubbing them as third-rate amateurs.

Election and Congress

In 2016, Brown was choosen to succede Charles J Schultz for the 2nd Idaho Congressional District. Richard Brown stood on a moderate political platform, promising tax reform and improved state infrastructure. Brown won the election with a narrow majority over his Democratic opponent and was happily sent to Washington and National Politics.
