Biography
Timothy Cargill was born in Philadelphia on January 30th, 1960 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After doing well in high school he graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics with a concentration in Business and Public Policy in 1982. However, he decided that the business world wasn't for him, and already being without a soul thanks to Wharton, he entered Temple Law School and decided to seek a career in politics. Tim graduated in 1985, and went to work in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
Cargill worked in local judicial realm until 1992, when he moved on to try his hand with the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. By this time, he was a fairly well known name in his corner of the city, and successfully ran for City Council in 1994. He served on Council through 2007, when he was elected to the US Congress in Pennsylvania's 2nd District after the seat was vacated by the mayor-elect.
