Life

James Fitzgerald Parker was born on February 21, 1976 to Everett Fineas Parker and Jennifer Gold Adams in Seattle, Washington. During his High School years, James was noted as an politically active student, taking part in the student government and the schools newspaper. He graduated with an GPA of 4.2 and was admitted to the University of Washington the following semester. There, he gained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics and there he joined the regional youth group of the GOP and took an active stance in campus politics. After graduating magna cum laude from the University in 1999, he transferred to Yale University to get his Master of Business Administration at the Yale School of Management. After he graduated in 2001, he moved back to Seattle to work in his father's consulting and accounting firm (Parker, Parker, Parker & Lewis Consulting and Accounting) and to get involved in the regional and state level politics of Washington. The citizens of his district seemed satisfied with the work of the liberal conservative Republican when they voted him into the House for the first time in 2016. After a rather quiet first term, the constituents of Washington's first again elected James into the House of Representatives for his second term from 2018-2020. During this term, the sophomore Representative sat on the House Committees FRAS and AGR while later switching to BELI. During his time in BELI, he was promoted first to the position of Vice Chair and then to Chairman of the Committee. In the same session, he decided to run for the Pacific Coast's Senate seat (Class III) which was up for vote in 2020. After a successful race, he won by 54.1% and subsequently moved into the Senate.
