Natalya Kudrov

Natalya Ania Kudrov currently serves as the Governor of the North Atlantic States

Biography

Natalya was born on August 21, 1973 in East Hills, New York to Mikhail and Anastasia Kudrov. She attended New York University where she obtained her Masters in Math Education and Science Education thanks to a scholarship from the Math, Science and Technology Enhancement Program. After Graduating, she went to teach at the local High School. In 2003, she took over the job as Superintendent of the school district.

Her close coordination with the Department of Education and her local school district led her to an interest in politics and she became an advocate for an increased Government focus on improving Math and Science classes. In 2010, she was approached by the county Republicans and asked to run for the legislative seat. Natalya was elected to the NOR Legislature in 2010. She was elected to serve as the Minority Leader for the Republican Party in 2017.

In 2018, Natalya was nominated by the Northeast Republican Party as the Gubernatorial Candidate. She was able to overcome the demographics in the Region and beat her opponent Carter Everson (D-NY) to become the second Republican to be elected to the office. In 2020, she was selected by the North Mega-Regional Convention to serve as Governor of the North Atlantic States until 2022.

In 2020, Natalya resigned from the Republican Party and became an Independent. Shortly afterwards, she announced her decision to join the Democratic Party.
