Jeremy Marshall Pratt, LL.D., (born April 5, 1974) is the Republican Congressman for Alabama's Fourth District.

Biography

Born in Fayette County, Alabama to the Reverend Cannon Euell and Patricia "Patsy" Pratt (nee Johnson), on April 5, 1974, Jeremy Pratt is life-long resident of Alabama and its fourth congressional district with the exception of his college time.

He achieved an LL.D. at Yale University before returning to Alabama, specifically Fort Payne, where he practiced family law for twelve years. In 2012, he retired from his practice in order to run for Congress for the Republican party after Robert Aderholt retired. He was successful in his campaign and has been serving for the 4th district since.

As a Congressman, Pratt has made a name for himself as being a moderate conservative and has, from time to time, shown himself apt at bridging the gap between the two major parties. He has been quoted as saying "The true sign of a statesman is his ability to get work done whether it's blue or red in nature. What's best for Americans is what's best for a Congressman."

Pratt is also the author of Time's best-selling book "The Democracy Doctrine" where he examined foreign policy and the idea of liberal democratic ideals being the best means to achieve peace across the world.
