Chelsea McCree (born March 04, 1975) is the current Minority Leader in the Gulf Coast Legislature. She is a member of the Gulf Coast Assembly since 2016. Previously she served as Director of the Office of Management and Budget of the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Chelsea is related to New York Congressman Daniel McCree who is her older brother.

Early Life and College

Chelsea McCree was born on March 04, 1975 in Queens, New York the youngest child of of Aiden and Lyndsey McCree. She has four brothers and one sister, all older than her. Annabelle spent her childhood in Queens with her parents and her siblings working at the family diner until completion of high school in 1993, the same year her brother Daniel McCree was elected Mayor of Rochester, NY.

Following high school Chelsea left New York and moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she enrolled at Jacksonville University. Following her B.A. in management which she received in 1997 Chelsea completed her M.A. in Business Administration in 1999.

Professional Career

After graduation Chelsea began working for the Bank of America Corp. in Jacksonville and her employers quickly recognized her incredible talent. In 2004 she was given the task to head the Business Capital branch of the Bank in Florida. Despite several offers from New York, London and elsewhere in the world Chelsea had found a new home in Florida and turned down all offers to leave the state.

In 2007 she moved to Fort Lauderdale and took on a job on the board of directors with Citrix Systems Inc..

Political Career

Despite her remarkable success on the market Chelsea never forgot her low-income, immigrant roots and in 2010 was chosen by the mayor of Fort Lauderdale to lead the Office of Management and Budget of the city. She held that position until 2016 when she herself successfully campaigned for an open seat in the Gulf Coast legislature.

Private life and family

In 1999, following graduation from college she married her long-time boyfriend Michael Stone. Michael owns a successful consulting business based in Fort Lauderdale with offices in all major cities of the region.
