Andrew Stephenson, commonly referred to as Stephy, joined USGovSim on June 10, 2005, in the middle of Reset 4. He played as a Democrat during Reset 4, then a Republican in Reset 5. From Reset 6, Stephy has been a member of the Admin Team, focusing primarily on economics and the federal budget.

Stephy is a resident of Australia.

Andrew Stephenson (D-PA)

Stephenson was elected to Pennsylvania's 14th Congressional District in 2014. He served two terms in the house, during the second as House Majority Whip. He was then elected to the Senate in 2018 to represent the Mid-Atlantic region (then comprised of Pennsylvania and New Jersey), winning 57.50% of the vote. In the Senate, he was the Vice Chair of the DAC and COM committees.

Andrew Stephenson (R-CT)

Stephenson was elected to Connecticut's 4th Congressional District in 2006. He unsuccessfully sought election to the New England Senate (then comprised of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine) in 2008, losing to Democrat William Scott. In the Congressional session following his loss, he served as the Ranking Republican on the House BELI committee, where he successfully delayed the budget passing committee long enough to give Congressional Republicans some bargaining power against the Democratic majorities in both chambers of Congress.

In 2010, Stephenson again ran for the Senate in New England, this time winning. It was the first time since USGovSim had moved to the new demographics system that a Republican had won in New England. He would go on to run for President in 2012, winning the New Hampshire primary, but failing to gain enough momentum to rise above underdog status. He withdrew following Super Tuesday.

The reset ended before he was set to run for re-election in 2014, which coincided with his move into the Admin Team.

Admin Team

Stephy joined the admin team in December 2006, days before Reset 5 came to an end. He was the primary admin responsible for economics and the budget during Reset 6, though he was also assisted by Wong during the first half of the reset and Austin towards the end of the reset. During Reset 5 he was also at various times responsible for the Club for Growth, foreign countries (primarily Northern Europe) and the Heartlands region (then comprised of Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan).

The start of Reset 7 coincided with a fall in Stephy's free time, and from July 2008 until July 2009 he referred to himself as "Admin in Name Only", reflecting the fact that he held no day to day responsibilities on the Admin Team. He returned to active duty on the Admin Team in July 2009 to again take a lead role on the federal budget.
