Biographical

Born Victoria Wilkins, in Los Angeles. She is very quiet about her early life; it seems largely unremarkable, except for being sent to a Catholic High School. Most of her family is Catholic, although Victoria herself became a member of the Eastern Orthodox Church when she got married.

She attended UCLA from 1992-1996, working on a double major in Chemistry and Biology. During this time she met an Estonian exchange student, Johannes von Doom, who was 2 years older than her. Her husband went on to become the regional manager for his father's company, von Doom industries. The two lived a long-distance, difficult marriage from 1997-2003, during her time at Hopkins in the joint MD/PhD program. Once the program was complete, she moved to Seattle, where the Regional Headquarters of von Doom industries is located ("Regional" in this case covers a lot of ground). From 1993-20010, she worked as a Research Associate, focusing on MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant diseases.

In 2010, her best friend, Rachel Morgan, convinced her to take a risk and run for public office. Victoria, long pressured by her friend and a few other local operatives, finally gave in and announced her intention to run on for office.
