Eric David Morrison is a Republican politician from Idaho. He has served as Lieutenant Governor of the Northwest since 2011. Previously, Morrison served as Mayor of Boise, Idaho.
Early Life and Career
Eric Morrison was born in Boise, Idaho on September 5, 1965. He quickly drew an interest in politics and earned a political science degree from the University of Idaho. After graduating, he returned to Boise and became a successful local businessman. In 2000, he was elected to the Boise City Council, and in 2004, Morrison was elected Mayor of Boise, a position he held until 2011.
Lieutenant Governor of the Northwest
In 2010, Morrison was tabbed as Northwest Republican Gubernatorial candidate William Reynard's running mate. Reynard and Morrison ran a very tough race. Reynard was defeated on Election Day by Democrat Zachary Flint. However, in a split ticket victory, Morrison was elected lieutenant governor.
Morrison's term as lieutenant governor began in January of 2011.
Personal
Morrison lives with his wife Anna and their four kids. He is a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
