The trade good metals can be either sold or bought on many space stations. Considered to be iron, steel, and other materials, most inhabited planets will either have a supply to sell or a demand for more.
Metals can be purchased for amounts ranging between 27.0 and 40.0 or more, and be sold for around the same price. Cargo ships usually tend to carry metals before upgrading to a more powerful vessel, such as the Galactic Freighter or the Stellar Freighter. Because of the low profit values of trading metals, it rarely is profitable to carry metals outside the core systems.
