Hank Pym takes a walk on the beach in Giant Man form while Janet Pym watches and videotapes the event. They talk about the prospect of being super heroes as part of Nick Fury’s Ultimates. Janet also notes that she sees the experience as a fresh start for her and her husband. Janet then receives a phone call from Tony Stark about the discovery of Captain America.

• At the Triskelion, Nick Fury and Tony Stark watch Bruce Banner and a team of scientists revive Captain America. Nick Fury notes that Captain America disappeared in 1945, five hundred miles off the coast of Newfoundland. Fury also remarks that finding him now, seems like a sign that what they are doing is right.

Captain America regains consciousness. He is greeted by Bruce Banner who introduces him to Tony Stark and Nick Fury. He informs Cap that he has been out for 57 years in a state of suspended animation. Captain America, who is restrained to a hospital bed, breaks his restraints, elbows Nick Fury in the nose, and fights his way out of the infirmary, believing that he is the victim of a Nazi trick. He notes as evidence that in reference to Fury “the highest ranking black man in the U.S. army is a Brooklyn-born captain that he grew up with.” As Cap escapes, Tony Stark notes to Banner that Cap wasn’t supposed to be strong enough after revival to barely talk.

• Captain America is subdued during his escape by Hank Pym, who is just arriving back at the facility. Hank grows to giant size and pins Steve Rogers to the ground.

• A few days later, Steve Rogers has calmed down and accepted his whereabouts. He apologizes to Fury for breaking his nose and Fury takes him to track down his old friends from 1945. They go to visit Bucky Barnes, who is now married to Steve’s former girlfriend Gail, and had 4 kids and 7 grandchildren. Nick Fury also notes that Bucky has cancer.

• At Bucky and Gail’s home, Buck and Steve are reunited. Bucky acts guilty about marrying Gail. Gail refuses to come downstairs and talk to Steve, not wanting him to see her and how she has aged.

• Fury takes Steve to a cemetery where he shows him the graves of the other men in his unit. Steve notes that he should have been left in the ice.

• At the Triskelion, a launch party is held for the premiere of the Ultimates team. Nick Fury escorts Betty Ross to the event, noting the money she spent on the premiere as per her job of public relations for the Ultimates. Betty notes to Fury that she is going to make the Ultimates famous.

Tony Stark and Bruce Banner converse at the premiere about Betty Ross. Stark is asked by a reporter to provide an interview for sixty minutes and Stark graciously accepts. He leaves Bruce Banner in the crowd, to feel lonely and sorry for his self at his failing personal and professional life.

Nick Fury presents the refurbished Steve Rogers, aka Captain America to the President, with new costume and shield. Fury describes him as stronger than they expected and tactically intelligent off the scale.
