• In Washington D.C., Wolverine reveals his mission to kill Xavier to Jean Grey. She reacts violently and threatens him.
• Magneto arrives in D.C. with the Sentinel fleet. The X-Men act to combat the Sentinels.
• Wolverine turns on Magneto and attacks him.
• Magneto overrides the controls on every nuclear missile on the planet and has them launch towards Washington D.C..
• Quicksilver is influenced by Cyclops and by his father's feeling of disrespect towards him. He betrays Magneto and removes his father's helmet during the D.C. battle, allowing Xavier to override his mind.
• Xavier causes Magneto to draw the Sentinels and nuclear missiles to himself and detonate them all at safe range from the earth.
• Cyclops returns to the X-Men.
Notes:
- Colossus’ steel form is identified to weigh 500 pounds by Jean Grey.
- Magneto forces the President to lick his boots clean.
- Magneto refers to America as being 225 years old. If this is correct, it would place the year being 2001.
- Magneto refers to his and Xavier’s last conflict to have occurred 2 years ago.
