09.30 Larry the Lamb: "Larry the Plumber". Adventures in Toytown with Larry and his friends.

09.40 The Search for the Persian Royal Road: "Into the Plains". The history of the struggle between the Urartu and Assyria and the rise of Alexander the Great.

10.30 Animated Classics: "Tales of Washington Irving". Two of Irving's best known tales: "Rip Van Winkle" and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".

11.35 Razzmatazz: Another session of this fast-moving pop magazine. Today's guests include film star and hit recording artist David Essex, who sings "Bebopalula", Kim Wilde with her chart success "Chequered Love", and Hot Gossip, who give a dance workshop. Your hosts for the programme are Alastair Pirrie and Lyn Spencer.

12.00 Chorlton and the Wheelies: "Chorlton and the Stones". Chorlton the dragon gives wicked witch Fenella more than a headache when he befriends some of Wheelyworld's oddest inhabitants.

12.10 Rainbow: Geoffrey Hayes, Stanley Bates, Jane Tucker, Rod Burton, Roger Walker, Roy Skelton - "How Do You Swim?" Geoffrey and a group of children go to the swimming baths, where a coach teaches them to swim. Jane, Rod and Roger sing "Swimming" and the story is "Bothersome Bertie" by Jennifer Barford, illustrated by Bridget Appleby.

12.30 Me and My Camera: Joe Partridge, George Hughes. The first of 10 programmes in a series designed to help you understand your camera and take better photographs.

13.30 The Spinners...: "and Children". A new six-part series featuring folk group "The Spinners" who choose a different subject and location in each programme and sing songs to match their theme. Today they are with the children of Stanwix Primary School in Carlisle. Together they sing old favourites and the group teach the children some new songs before taking them on a trip to Blackpool Zoo.

14.30 Monday Matinee: Susan Hayward, Michael Craig, Diane Baker, Edward Judd, Paul Rogers in "Stolen Hours". Mike Bannerman, a top English racing driver, is the latest love of wealthy American playgirl Laura Pember.

16.15 Road Runner: "Beep Beep". The coyote tries every means of capturing the road runner but his schemes and plans backfire.

16.20 Runaround: Mike Reid. "Runaround" is back - the all-action quiz in which 10 youngsters chase super prizes.

16.45 Scarf Jack: Adapted by P.J. Kavanagh from his book. "The Duel". Scarf Jack (Ron Boyd) meets his enemies at the hanging oak.

17.15 History of the Motor Car: "Cars, Cars and More Cars". At the end of the war, American cars were symbols of unattainable luxury for the rest of the world, but the recovery of the European motor industry was dramatic. By 1954, Britain was producing three-quarters of a million cars a year.

18.00 Thames News: Colin Baker and Rita Carter present the Thames area news.

18.35 Crossroads: Benny issues a surprising invitation to Len Morton. Glenda Banks learns something which affects her deeply.

19.00 The Krypton Factor: Television's toughest quiz continues the search for the superperson of 1981. Presenter Gordon Burns leads four contestants through exacting trials of brain and brawn.

19.30 Coronation Street: Stand by with the confetti. You're invited to the year's second biggest wedding as Ken Barlow (William Roache) and Deirdre Langton (Anne Kirkbride) finally tie the knot. It's the climax of an on/off courtship that at times seemed doomed. Remember Ken's cold feet after Deirdre's divorce? And his jealousy when she decided to enjoy her new freedom by dating Mike Baldwin? Now, all that's wiped away by the happiness of the big day. Wish them luck as "Coronation Street" celebrates.

20.00 Sorry, I'm a Stranger Here Myself: Robin Bailey, David Hargreaves in "Dress Optional". It's Henry's birthday party - only he doesn't know about it. Everything's flowing - wine, food, and a number of strange people, straight through Henry's front door. One guest is notably absent.

21.00 Quincy: Jack Klugman in "Death by Good Intention". Pressure builds up for pathologist Quincy who is asked to delve deeper into the death of an alcoholic in hospital.

22.30 Hammer House of Horror: Anthony Valentine, Suzanne Danielle, Sian Phillips, Barry Stanton in "Carpathian Eagle". Tonight's spine-chilling drama from Hammer Films concerns the tale of a beautiful countess from Carpathia, whose pet eagle tore out her lovers' hearts. Just an ancient myth - or is it? It seems that no man is safe when a series of gruesome murders in modern London brings the legend horifically to life - and death.

23.30 Great Fights of the Seventies: Ali v. Frazier. Muhammed Ali and Joe Frazier in the same ring at Madison Square Garden.
