Text of Proposition
Members are not permitted to remain on the island for more than 4 weeks in a row. If a member stays for the 4 week maximum, there must be a minimum of a 4 week gap before they can return.
Arguments for
- (Mary D) Four weeks is long enough -- this is not supposed to be a tribal residence. I urge members to vote YES on this proposition to limit stays to 4 weeks.
- (John F) Space on the island is limited. We should not allow people to take space at the expense of those who have never gone to the island. Vote YES on this measure to keep space for new members to visit.
Arguments longer than 100 words will be removed.
Arguments against
- (Tribbles) Some members may be involved in projects taking longer than four weeks. We need to improve the language of such a proposition to allow an exception for this. I urge members to VOTE NO on proposition 12 and come up with a new proposition that includes such an exception.
- (Franko) I think we should keep the original 3 week limit. That's what I signed up for and I don't think it should be changed. Please VOTE NO on this proposition.
