Welcome to Tribewanted's Wiki!

This Wiki is intended as a source for information about the Tribewanted project. Tribe members may create new topics, or edit existing topics as they see fit.

Purpose

This Wiki was created to accomplish the following:

  • To document work that has been completed and the decisions that guided development
  • To orient newcomers to the project so they can quickly understand where we have come, and where we are going
  • To provide a reference for technical information relating to the project
  • To allow members to maintain information in real-time, without waiting for someone else to approve or take action
  • To post photographs and documents in a manner where they can be found later
  • To allow a large online community to actively participate in the project

Wiki guidelines

  • Only edit text with what you believe is factual information. If you are adding knowledge gained from an outside source, quote the source as a reference.
  • This wiki is intended as a source of reference information on the TW project. It is not intended for marketing or promotion -- that is done on the main tribewanted.com web site.
  • This is not a blog -- you can do that on your tribal home page.
  • No bitching. Have something controversial to say, or just complain about? Don't do it here -- try the discussion forum instead.
  • Keep in mind the scale of this project. There may be other islands or projects in the future. Instead of writing "on the island", you should write "on Vorovoro."
  • Topics must be kept relevant to the Tribewanted project, or they will be deleted. If you create a topic called "bamboo", then it should talk about how bamboo is used on Vorovoro, for example. If you want to know information about bamboo in general, you'll find it in www.wikipedia.org.
  • Since this is a Wiki -- not a discussion group -- feel free to add your own topics, or edit exiting topics, as you see fit. You don't have to ask anyone first. Keeping in mind the rules above, you should make sure your information is factual and not based on opinion. If you make a change that is wrong, don't worry, someone else will come along and undo your edit or fix the error.

  • Wiki text Read this for some basic text formatting help. You don't need to read this unless you want to get fancy. Just click the edit tab on any page and try a few things out (click the Show Preview button to see how it looks.) You'll be good-to-go in a couple of minutes!
  • To create a new topic, start by placing an internal link (simply the name of your topic) on an existing page. Type it in double brackets like this: [[my topic]]. Save the page, then click the link. That will bring up your new page and you can start typing!
