The Great Bure is a large, communal structure on Vorovoro island.
Background
The decision was that after water, the tribe’s first goal should be to build a community structure that would be the centre-piece of island living. We decided to build a large bure (18 yards by 9 yards) on the flat open space near the beach to the West of the Chief’s houses.
